Something our resident candle maker hasn't had a chance to do for awhile, is to play with custom containers.
In this instance, they had some lovely vintage tea cups dropped of by a local gift store owner, to turn into candles for their store.

 Armed with Tracey's favourite fragrances, these lovely little candles came out beautifully!

While we loved the Husk range we've had from our opening, reduced stock choices meant we needed to find a replacement tea range that suited our Clients and our space.
We were very happy when we touched base with the folks at Hobarts' Art of Tea, that they were thrilled to come on board.

Absolutely Gorgeous is a range from Victoria. 
Founded by Cristina Masci after working in the beauty industry and seeing just how many of her Clients were struggling with sensitive skin.  She found that a lot of 'natural' products were filled with chemicals that were causing reactions.

Cristina created a range free of harsh, synthetic ingredients that doesn't compromise on results. 

sanctum  is currently stocking a selection of this range.  From the luscious Coconut and Lime Body Custard and Body Scrub to the delectable Lavender and Mandarin Hand and Nail Cream and soothing Bath Milk.  Mmmmm.....

Hahana as some of you may already be aware, is the company that our Hot Stone Therapy comes from - they have restocked their rich, organic Coconut Massage Oil and are now offering take home sizes as well.

Coconut Oil is incredibly rich and nourishing for our skin.  It won't clog or encourage oiliness, but it softens and soothes - perfect for our cooler climate in Tasmania.
We have brought it on board to offer to our Clients suffering dry, itchy skin - you can upgrade to this beautiful oil, during your Massage treatment for a full body treat (a perfect pairing with an exfoliating dry body brushing treatment as with our current promotion!) and then take some home with you to nourish your skin between treatments.
Even better, it smells delicious with essential oils of Peru Balsam and Ylang Ylang - which give this oil a toasted, coconutty fragrance that you'll quickly become addicted to!!

Product Focus - Inner Earth Soaps

Winter Woods on Timber Soap Rack - delicious aroma of Balsam Pine and Cranberry

We were very excited to receive our order from the lovely Erin from Inner Earth Soaps yesterday.
We met Erin through the wonderful universe of the soap blogs before she took the big step of going full time with her soap making - and we're really glad that she did!
With time being a challenge, we've not been able to keep up with demand for our own range of Olive Oil Soaps - and not wanting just any soaps in sanctum, it was an easy choice to bring on board Erin's great range of hand made soaps.

Pomegranate; Orange Clove and; Jasmine Soap Bars

We chose 6 different soap bars this time around, each with it's own distinctive colour and fragrance - we think they look great and hope your Cients and Visitors will too.
Being mainly based on Olive and Coconut Oils - these soaps are gentle on the skin and last well, provided they can drain and dry well between uses.
sanctum already smells wondeful just by having them in the store!

These candles are something we've been wanting to do for quite some time - the challenge has been finding the containers.
These we found at a local Kitchenware store - we're hoping we can organise to get them for a better price in the future so we can keep offering them for sale in store.

Moroccan Tea Glasses (also known as 'Turkish') are a lovely glass to begin with - but we really love how they look as candles.
We kept the wax its natural soft white as we think that the glasses are the stars of the show and we filled them with some of our most popular fragrances (French Pear, Vanilla Pomegranate & Black Currant, White Tea & Ginger, Lemon Myrtle, White Tea & Berries and Manuka Honey & Lavender).
There'll only be twelve available in at sanctum (when we reopen on the 10th) so get in quickly if they catch your eye as much as they do ours!

Product Focus - Husk

Husk has been a favourite for us since way back in 2005. 

While building a Day Spa for Fernwood Womens Health Club just outside of Brisbane, we brought this range of tea's and homewares on board in the retail section.  So when we were creating sanctum and were looking at the ranges we'd like to sell, we knew just where to start!

Husk is an Australian Company based in Melbourne. 

They are quite well known for their stunning shopfronts (like here and here) and earthy, eco-savvy ranges of clothing and homewares.

At sanctum we chose to stock their lovely range of herbal teas (which we offer each Client after their treatments with us) and a selection of their hand turned ceramics.

Our current selection of tea includes:

Revive 

lemon scented tea tree with hawthorn berries - fresh, uplifting and very tasty!

Digest 

liquorice, peppermint and chamomile - bright, easy on the tummy and with just a hint of sweetness thanks to the liquorice

Dream 

lavender, chamomile and hawthorn berries - relaxing, soothing and just right for before bed time for a great nights sleep

Harmony

cinnamon, cloves, lychee berries, cardamon, ginger, purple marshmallow flowers and lemon balm - lots to love in this warming, herbaceous blend - great hot or cold

Green Lapacho

a smooth blend of green tea with a hint of vanilla

These are available in either a 50g tea box or a herbal tea multipack that is great value with five different teas plus an infuser.

To make tea time even better we also have available a selection of beautiful tea pots and tea cups.  These are made by a ceramicist for Husk and are truly beautiful to look and and to use.

So think of Husk, next time you are thinking of your next 'cuppa' or visiting us here at sanctum.

Product Focus - Fragrant Soy Melts

These little Melts are a wonderfully easy way to send fragrance through a space.
Made from pure soy wax and the highest quality fragrances, our Melts average 20 hours each of fragrance time and so are extremely economical.
We use them here at sanctum to fragrance our treatment rooms as they are so easy to setup and forget about.
To use, simply place the Melt into the bowl of an Oil Burner (into the dish where you would normally place water and essential oils), light a tea light below and watch as it melts with the warmth and gently releases its fragrance.

The great thing about these Melts is that they won't evaporate, so no need to worry about cracking the Oil Burner dish if you're like me and forget to keep the water topped up - they'll simply harden again once the candle goes out.  No need to add anything!

Just keep replacing the tea light and using the Melt till the fragrance fades.

To replace the Melt is easy too - you can either wait for the wax to be melted, pour it into a bin and wipe out with a paper towel - or let the Melt harden (even popping the Oil Burner dish into the freezer for 30 minutes) and the wax will usually pop out like a little disc.

At sanctum we sell our Fragrant Melts for just $1.50 each or even better, 5 Melts for $5!

How easy is that!

Our very popular Fragrant Reed Diffusers are back in stock here at sanctum.
These have proven to be great gift ideas and have sold well, both in at sanctum and at the markets that we've taken them to.
With great fragrances such as: Very Vanilla; Frangipani; Honeysuckle Jasmine; Cinnamon Vanilla & Mulberry Tree, they are such an easy way to fragrance a space by setting them up and simply forgetting about them.

Be sure to get in quick though, we have already sold several since we restocked and we often stock only one of each fragrance to get the biggest range of aroma's possible.
And at only $25.50 each, they are extremely economical as well - we've had one here at sanctum going strong for 6 months and it doesn't look likely to fade anytime soon!

Product Focus - Mukti Rosehip Eye Gel

The eyes are the windows to the soul - or so they say.
The eyes are also one of the most delicate areas on the face and so can show signs of ageing and skin issues earlier than other areas.
In our 'time poor' lives, we can often forget that we need to take a little extra care of the area around our eyes and that with just a few extra steps, we can care for this area and reduce our risk of premature damage.
The area around our eyes differs from the rest of the face in a few ways:

• it has virtually no sebaceaous (sweat) glands, making it prone to dryness
• it is much thinner and more delicate than the other areas of the face
• it has minimal fat padding and sits over a dense capillary network, which can lead to puffiness
• it is constantly 'stressed' by eye movements and facial expressions

Our skin care routine should take into account these points in order to protect and preserve this delicate skin.

As well as a gentle cleanser for the face (some product ranges produce a specific cleanser for the eye area), a purpose made care cream for the eye area is vital.

Mukti Rosehip Eye Gel is formulated for all skin types and is a light, soothing gel infused with Rosehip and vitamins such as Vitamin E.
Rosehip is a potent natural antioxidant that helps to combat cellular damage and repair tissue. Mukti Rosehip Eye Gel assists tired, puffy eyes and helps to firm and tone the eye area.
Other ingredients include: Calendula, Chamomile, Organic Shea Butter and Grapefruit Seed Extract, all added to gently hydrate and nourish.
Best used after cleansing and toning and before your moisturiser. 
Dab a small amount onto the pads of your fingers (the ring fingers are the best for this) and gently pat around the eye area - be sure to incorporate the sides of the face from the outer corner of your eye to your hairline (where 'crows feet' appear) as well as underneath the eye following the top of the cheek bone.
